This school year will start my 21st year teaching. I started out teaching Middle School Reading in Amarillo, Texas. I have taught Middle School and High School Math, History and English. I am currently a Special Education Teacher at Clinton High School.
Two ½ nights each week, I teach history at the Clinton GOLD Academy Alternative School.
I am fortunate enough to be a third-generation graduate. My grandfather graduated in 1928, my mother in 1968, and I graduated from CHS in 1988. My oldest daughter graduated from CHS in 2012 and my oldest son in 2017. It is an honor to teach with some of the same teachers who taught me in school.
I went on to get my Bachelors of Education in Special Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1999. In 2003, I also finished up my Masters of Education in Social Sciences.
I have been married to David Adney for 29 years. We have four wonderful children. Amanda is 25 years old and is currently working as an engineer at Shriever Airforce Base in Colorado Springs. She and her husband, Cameron, are expecting their first baby in about a week. Her name will be Loralyn. Aaron is 20 and working as a mechanic. He and his wife, Sidnie, have four children. Adam is 18 and will be a senior this year. My baby, Ashley, just turned 16.
